“Happy to have discovered such a fascinating world" (2019)

A month has already passed since our return trip back home. Yet, looking at our pictures gets even more exciting. The places were so wonderful that we almost need to convince ourselves that we’ve actually been there.

For our honeymoon, we trusted the professionalism and experience of Candice and Samuele, and our trust was well justified.

Their perfect organization allowed us to explore some of the many wonders of the Philippines, enjoying our vacation with no worries. They gave us a precise travel handbook with all the instructions and tips for each destination and they were available to be contacted anytime we needed to reach them.

Our trip started discovering the magical rice terraces of Banaue, trekking around these peculiar natural landscapes. We had a taste of the traditions of these places and had the adventure of an overnight sleep in a typical local “Kubo”.

The next destination of our tour was Bohol, that conquered us with many experiences and gave us many emotions. We saw dolphins from our boat, we snorkeled with sea turtles, we encountered tarsiers and we had a cruise on Loboc River. This stay in Bohol was completed by a hotel fully immersed in nature, with a dream-view of the ocean.

After Bohol, our next stop (the most important one for Manlio!) was Cebu Island. Here we were able to swim in waterfalls, taste the famous Lechon but overall to snorkel with the whale sharks. We were so near the “gentle giants” that we could almost touch them.

More pristine nature was awaiting for us in Puerto Princesa, in the Palawan Province. We had a romantic firefly watching tour on a river and we visited one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature: the Puerto Princesa Underground River (see UNESCO page). We explored it using small boats with just a small light carried by the local guide.

After Puerto Princesa we reached El Nido and Coron, witnessing crystal-clear waters and white beaches, decorated by dark rock formations and luxurious vegetation. The landscape was both charming and wild. During our day tours, we were guided around the small and big corners of this paradise, snorkeling and kayaking around lagoons with moments of pure relaxation. While we were swimming, the crew was taking care of our lunches and we are not exaggerating by saying that our food servings were always bountiful and delicious.

What else to say? We had 21 very intense days and we are happy to discover such a fascinating world, so full of exciting things. Thank you Candice and Samuele for showing it to us in the best way possible!

Thank you and see you again, Philippines!
